Don't underline in print. Underlining is a manuscript convention to tell the future typesetter "italicize this." On the web it means a link.
To your main point: when you have a chunk of copy which is italicized, and you need to emphasize one word, the general technique in fiction is to make it roman (non-italic), because that's the "opposite" of italic.
In non-fiction, I might make it bold italic, because your italics have a meaning on top of formatting emphasis.

There is no way to do this.
It is only possible to display two separate pages next to each other, not more.
The only possible way — but you are already doing this — is to export as a sheet, and then you have the mess with printing.
You could change to two pages or like Lucian said provide two different PDFs.
Another way would be a PDF with 4 Pages, the first one is a sheet with all Pages next to each other and 3 single pages for printing.
But none of these solutions is ideal.

I had the same problem as it was working fine in CS6 but changed in CC. In CS6, it would automatically "add" the holes to your selection and you would have marching ants around all your selections.
Now, (in CC2018), you need to press the 'esc' key so that all your drawn selections become the thin solid path line. Then you can press the make selection button or right click on your path to make a selection of ALL drawn paths with marching ants.
For example, draw a path around the outside of an "O". Then draw a path around the inside of the "O". The outer path becomes a thin line and the inside is now active with the square control points. When done, PRESS THE 'ESC' key to make the inner active path inactive. You should now have thin solid line around the inside and outside of the "O". Now you can make a selction by pressing the make selection button or right clicking on the "O" for more options (feathering, etc.)
Also make sure you are in "Exclude overlapping shapes" in the path operations button.
In summary, you need to make sure there are no 'active' paths (with square control points) as these will be the only ones chosen when making a selection. Only the solid thin blue path lines in your path layer, then click make selection button. Hope this helps.

Craig, I see you're struggling with the various answers because you feel like you're not being heard. Here's the issue: You're going at this backwards.

Yes, you are correct to note that "a logo for a favicon has to look good at 16px" and so on.
But "making sure I have something to use for a favicon" is Item 25 on your Logo Design Checklist. It's NOT Item 3.
What you are doing is saying "I need to make sure my car is yellow so I can find it in a parking lot" before you've even decided if you need a car or truck or motorcycle, what brand, compact/sedan/minivan/pickup, your budget, and a sunroof. The paint color is just not important if you don't know yet if you're getting a smart4two or a Nissan Avalanche. And you won't know what you need until you figure out your budget and you test-drive vehicles.
I agree that "Can I reduce this to a favicon? Can I make this work on letterhead?" should be at least on your radar when you're in Illustrator designing. But it should NOT be part of your initial sketches on paper. That's what Scott is trying to explain.
Yes, you will, at some point, need to create a variation or a version of your logo for different uses. Some may be stripped down of color, or a different dimension than your original logo. I promise that this is okay.
There is absolutely no problem with starting with a circular logo and then taking one wee element out of it to use for a favicon. There is no problem with starting with a rectangular logo and restacking it to use on the web. And so on.
In short, you are prioritizing the wrong end of the design process.

It has always printed well and looked nice. I now have the opportunity to produce a version of it in India. The printer there says they prefer a PSD file because they say it prints better... and will convert my PDF to a PSD to make this happen.
This makes little sense to me:
Is PSD better for publication printing than PDF?
Would converting the "inferior" file format to PSD "increase" print quality?

PDF base unit is 1/72th of an inch.
What you paste here for a SVG rect is in user units, and as such is meaningless without the root <svg> width, height and viewBox attributes (can you paste them as well?).

744.09… user units correspond to 297mm==8.2677…in so basically in your document 90user units equal 1inch (value in pre-0.92 versions of Inkscape).
Supposing your rect is not in a scaled group hierarchy, its size is 100user units, ie 100/90=1.111… inch, ie 100/90*72=80"pt" (the pdf unit).
So everything is normal so far :)
To get a 100ptx100pt square, just use the "pt" units in Inkscape instead of "px" and it should work

The problem is that this is destructive, and if i have to change anything, I need to redo it all over again.

There is no way to do this without quality loss. The best alternative I've come across recently is a free web service that uses machine learning letsenhance.io/
Depending on your image, the results can be a lot better than what Photoshop and similar software can do. But as long as you are working with raster images and not vectors, it will not be perfect

For stationery, the convention is to have the full letterhead (logo, company name, address/phone/URL etc., header and footer) on the first page, and second and subsequent pages have reduced branding — maybe just the logo and company name.
In Word, you have to create a two-page template with a new Section. Your first page is your full letterhead; your second page starts the new Section with the reduced branding.
You can release it to the client as 1-Page Letterhead and 2-Page Letterhead, so they can use whichever they need.

So I may have finally found my answer! The iBiz forums recommended Studiometry by Oranged.net.
It has a cloud version, but you're not required to use it. You can download the software once and use it offline. It is Mac-compatible (with a lovely Mac interface) and has extensive video tutorials. You can try it full-featured for 30 days, I think.
So far I have been able to replicate almost every function of iBiz, if in slightly different places and formats. Studiometry has an "import iBiz" function which allows you to import everything directly from your iBiz database, which is SUPER useful, and their tech support is very responsive. The invoice templates are pretty editable, and the new version which comes out in a few weeks promises to have an improved template editor.
Entering information in a task is all in one window, including detailed notes. And it's possible to get an invoice which puts the details right on it with minimal fuss.
It's also compatible with the latest Mac OS, which is resolves my other (new) problem, which is that iBiz is only good up to OSX 10.11.

In your PSD file with your frame: Click File > Place linked
Find your artwork PSD file and place it as you like.
You can double click the layer thumbnail for you artwork to open it, or just open the file as usual.
It updates every time you save the artwork.

Easy peasy - 2 steps: Set each the text for each object to align to baseline grid and then align the objects to each other using one of them as a key object.
Select them all, choose type tool to give you access to type controls, in Para Attributes in control panel > Align to baseline grid.
Selection tool click on the "key object" while they are all selected and that will display a heavier guide color and set alignment to bottom - the frames will all move so the bottom edges (and baselines) line up with the key object.

The problem is, that they are actually the same ink, they're just labeled differently so as to afford having a more "accurate" preview, with the assumption being that everyone will always use the correct ink/paper, and that there will never be a need to do a read-across or use two different stocks in a particular job. The correct thing to do would be to have page layout programs which would require one to specify a paper, then simulate overlaying it with ink, and select an RGB representation based on the combination of those two properties.
I miss Cerilica's Truism (which was a page layout app which worked thus).

You can make a new document and place the original InDesign document in it and scale the pages to fit. This has to be done manually, but then you have a direct link to your source, in case you have to change something.

Two things I would have tried:
First: I recommend to convert black and white photos to greyscale. That way you avoid a color tint, but on the other hand the result might not be as dark as you want to. I don't know how your printer works, but with the additional black and grey colors, I'm guessing there is a possibility to use them in a greyscale scenario to get a satisfying result.
Second: Adjust the color of the image so that the darkest part is close to CMYK 30 20 20 100 (more Cyan than Magenta and Yellow to avoid a brown tint) do a test print and adjust CMY from there until the darkness and tint is to your liking. It can be hard to adjust that in a photograph, so another solution can be to adjust the levels in your printer, either via a control panel or in the driver settings. Again, I'm not familiar with the printer, so consult your manual.
The color of the paper will affect the color. Coated paper (gloss) will give you a darker and clearer result because the colors are not absorbed, but stays on the outside and the paper reflects more light. Uncoated will absorb more color and the print looks less saturated, or faded, in lack of a better term. A similar effect can also be seen on coated matte paper.
Do not use registration black for anything else than registration marks. Anything above 300 % cover is not recommended, it will "never" dry and you might get smudges or a metallic effect on the darkest parts.

Even though your document is in CMYK, it sounds like your colors have been defined as RGB at some point. The black and grey areas get a color tint when they consist of not just black.
First, be absolutely sure that the document is in CMYK mode (File -> Document color mode)
Second, select a black or grey element, open/go to the color window. If the sliders are anything else than CMYK, select CMYK from the window's hamburger menu. Now that you have the sliders, you can see what the colors really are and adjust them as you like for each element.
As for the blue, hard to say, but if it was RGB at some point, it probably has too much color in it, if the total percentage of color is above 250 %, it usually gets quite dark.
Also, take into account that it is impossible to match 100 % what you have on a screen with print.

While it's possible to place one InDesign document into another, I would really suggest that you at least consider exporting the text from both as Adobe Tagged Text and then reimporting them into a new document.
Then, for each text flow, create and assign Conditions to each (Latin, English).
Then, once you have everything stitched together as a seamless whole you can use the Conditional Text feature to turn one language or the other on/off and you can have all three book variants (Latin, English, dual) in a single document so that updates to one will be reflected in the others.
