 query : Re: How do I make a hanging indent on right-aligned text in InDesign? I am formatting a Hebrew bible in InDesign for my class, but I'm having trouble with making indents in a way that I can

@Ogunnowo857

There is not much to it. It’s the classic way to style lists in any design or word processing application.

Step 1: You indent the whole paragraph by a certain value, e.g. 20 mm

Step 2: You set a negative indent for first line with the same value, e.g. –20 mm

Step 3: You set a tab stop at the same value (e.g. 20 mm) and use a tab in every first line of the paragraph.

Now everything falls into place perfectly. The text in every first line because of the the tab, all following lines use the paragraph indendation. The figures in every first line are placed correctly through the negative indent.

You cannot as you specifically describe it ... that the text will auto resize to best-fit into the box. Perhaps the reason why is that one can manually control both height and width percentage so how would PS automatically know what you want?

To expand a little on what I said in the comments.

In order to retain the Embedded Smart Object links, you need to keep them in the same document. Technically the contents of an Embedded Smart Object are in a separate .psb file, so that is a no-no.

What you should do is copy the contents of bg copy Smart Object back to the main document and make new copies of the original Smart Objects to make sure they are in sync.

So something like this:

@Ogunnowo857

Here's what I suggested in the comments in more detail.

The idea here is that indesign lists can continue from the last number, so you can divide a list into multiple paragraphs maintaining the list form. So you just style every second paragraph to not have the list numbering.

You take the List Paragraph style and duplicate it. You can find duplicate option from the context list if you right click the list paragraph style.

For this example I name my paragraph styles: List - Heading and List - Body

In List - Heading options make the next style List - Body

make sure that List - Heading has Mode set to Continue from previous number.

Remove the numbering from the body paragraph style...

adjust justify and indents of the body paragraph style...

So as long as you format the text just like in your second example image, you now have a list with headings..

All I want to do is an image file that has been cleaned from all trimmed, transparent pixels.

@Ogunnowo857

You could offset the images using Object > Anchored Object > Options....

You'll want to set Position to Custom and just make the reference point top right corner. This alone should get you quite close, but you can also adjust x and y offsets to fine tune it.

Now before you go and change these settings separately for all the images, I'd urge you to look into Window > Styles > Object styles. In this panel you can create, apply and manage styles easily. Make a new object style and apply this style to all the images you want to adjust and then modify the Anchored Object Options to suit your needs:

There are many outlets available to designers to acquire data and drive design decisions.

With the rise of AI in the realm of marketing automation and analysis how can individual designers make use of data to improve their design decisions?

Specifically on the more artistic side of design. Should I be posting to Pinterest or Instagram and just seeing which gets the best responses or are there other more efficient means? And as I'm not very business savvy how much data should I look for before I even drive conclusions from them?

Please be sure to cite any research you may have on the subject as part of your answer.

@Ogunnowo857

If this is what you're looking for, just simply add a Brightness/Contrast filter with both brightness and contrast set to 0. Then change the blend mode of the filter to "Multiply". This will darken the image, hopefully in the way you want.

However, this is not the only way to darken the image. The same result can be achieved by applying other filters such as Levels (Ctrl + L) and Curves. Play around with the values until you get what you want.

I wouldn't give out bank account information.

Take cash, Square, PayPal or check. If using cash then invest in a receipt book with carbon copy that both you and the customer can sign and date for proof of purchase.

Regarding the bank account info -- this may be different outside the US but I still wouldn't do it. There's just no reason in my opinion to give out bank account information when there's other options available.

Create a Sketch library file, and try to put symbols as much as you can.

Just run loop over all your files like so:

Replace x256 with desired height and change extension as you like.

Well, photoshop or illustrator actions are just a shortcut way of doing repetitive things without you having to do them manually.

If you have an action to create square and center it. The software does each step on its own on your artboard. It selects the tool to create a square and creates the square. There is no background process where the action calculates the end result and renders the output on your artboard. Each step is carried out in front of you. You can also pause the action while it does so. You could pause the action before the software centers the square.

@Ogunnowo857

Like I said in my comment, one way would be to Lego it up and use small triangles to form the big one.

You could make the gap with a stroke by aligning it inside so that you can easily snap them together. If you move the first triangle holding down Alt, you can repeat that with Cmd+D.

So basically:

Make the first triangle

I used red stroke to make aligning easier.

Copy / Move using mouse while holding down Alt
Repeat using Object > Transform > Transform again (Cmd+D)

Repeat until you got enough for the half of the bottom row

Group it Cmd+G
Copy Cmd+C
Paste in place Cmd+F
Rotate. I used Free transform tool E.
Align so that the saw teeth match.

You could do this by drawing a disposable rectangle. Size doesn't really matter as long as the right side is touching the vertical cernter of the right most triangle in the bottom half. Select that and the top half of the first row and use Window > Align with key object being the rectangle.

Copy / Move the whole bottom row using mouse while holding down Alt
Repeat using Object > Transform > Transform again (Cmd+D)

Repeat until you got enough to form the big triangle

Remove the extra triangles.

First I selected all of the triangles and then I used Shape builder tool Shift+M to unify the triangles I didn't need. Then I just selected them with the Selection Tool V and backspaced them out of my life.
