For a single word in a font composed of many dots, I want to create a simple 10-second animation in which each of the dots will fade-in and in a random order, to eventually compose the original word.
Here is a picture of the font:
What's the simplest way of doing that? Thanks!
Using AE 2018 CC.

I am converting a word form to be a fillable pdf form,
I have one section where because the form may be printed and filled in by hand has a input box which is split over two pages.
I found a method here to link the two fields in adobe so that when the first is full it automatically moves to the next field. However when this occurs the keypress which triggers the script is lost.
Is there anything I can add to the script to repeat the last keypress once the field focus has shifted?
The current script from the answer above is:
if ( event.fieldFull || event.willCommit ) this.getField("*name of next field to continue in*").setFocus();

I'm using a smart object at two places (in the same file), and I need them to be linked, so that if I edit the content of one, the changes are applied on the other.
And it's working fine… until I use one of these smart objects inside another smart object. From the moment I create this third smart object, the link is broken, and the content doesn't update anymore.
One workaround is to use an external file imported as a link, but is there a way not to break the link in the first place?
Screenshot of my layers to clarify:
The complete artwork: "hex" and "bg" are both in the main picture and in the "bg copy" smart object, but the link is broken…
Here's the content of the 3rd smart object (the one called "bg copy" in the previous capture).

Just a general sense ..
Commercial artists create well-designed and crafted advertisements and product packaging, resulting in increased sales for a variety of industries. They often meet with a client to get a general idea of a project concept and then work out the details independently.

Much of the confusion between these two terms happens for a couple of reasons. First, even though PPI refers to the resolution of an on-screen digital image, it can also affect the quality of the final printed picture. Secondly, some professional print services request that pictures must be at a certain DPI level before they can be printed; what they normally mean is PPI, not DPI - thus, this adds to the confusion.

I was able to fix my picture by using Paint.NET instead of LunaPic. I just cropped out my foreground and placed it in a different layer that was fully opaque. Then saved as PNG, now it appears fine online!
Here's the icon now:
I'm not sure what the main issue was, but I'm assuming that LunaPic saves the transparency in a different format. @Mattia Galati also mentioned my original image was an indexed image, so that might be it.

I'm currently developing a Chrome Extension and trying to upload my icon to the Chrome Developer Dashboard. However, when I upload my icon, the colored-in part looks very transparent. Here is what it looks like once it's uploaded:
When I right click and save the image, this is what I end up getting:
Below is the original image I'm trying to upload. It looks fine on my computer, so I'm not sure why it changes transparency when uploaded.
Chrome requires a 128x128 png, and 16px of each side of the icon should be transparent (so the icon looks like it's only 96x96). Here is a reference to those guidelines. I believe I am following those guidelines correctly so that's probably not an issue.
I'm assuming I'm doing something wrong with the transparency values, but I'm not sure exactly. Anyone have any ideas? I created this icon using LunaPic.
: Should I go back to school for graphic design? I graduated college several years ago with a degree in English, and have been working in various creative positions in marketing departments since
I graduated college several years ago with a degree in English, and have been working in various creative positions in marketing departments since then. My current job is a kind of catch-all web content position--on a weekly basis I do everything from writing copy to making graphics to writing HTML and CSS for web pages, and design tasks have turned out to be my favorite work. Recently, my boss asked for navigational icons for the site, so I taught myself to use Illustrator and made a set of icons of which I am very proud. I am excited by all the design-related skills I've been picking up on the job, and I'd love to pursue a more focused graphic design career going forward.
My question is this: do I need a degree in graphic design to be considered for positions in this field? I feel confident in my ability to put together a portfolio and communicate the value of my experience to employers, but I'm worried that hiring managers will discard my applications without looking when they see that I don't have any kind of art degree or education. At the same time, I would much rather be working and learning on the job than accumulating student debt at this point in my life. If any of you have experience or suggestions for what direction I should pursue, I would appreciate the wisdom!

Im new to inkscape, so please bear with the noob question :)
Im trying to create a border which fades to transparent. At the moment I have the opposite - the border is white, the background is transparent.
I would like to reverse this, so the middle (currently transparent)is white, and the outside -(currently white) is transparent.
Im sure its super simple but I cant figure it out!
: Re: How to center a shape with text under it? TL;DR I want my pattern to be centered with the (dashed) outer circle, but I want the text to stay at the same position in correlation with the
If by aligning you mean centering, so both circles are concentric, what I would do in this case is copying the pattern and text as they are and put them on a side so you keep them safe. Then I would ungroup the ones that are still in the outer circle and erase the letters, so now you have just the circle pattern. Now you can align both circles either vertical and horizontal ways so is concentric with the outer circle. When done I would just put the copy of both text and pattern, manually, over the pattern matching the circles. After that just arrange the grouped items sending them to the back so you can delete the circle you used for the trick.Hope it helps!

Good day, Art Creators!
I have a questions with regards of clipping or masking a certain part of a GIF that I'm making - I'm not sure how would I explain it, but I'd rather show it below:
Here's what I currently have,
What I want is to clip or mask the excess 'icons' in a way that it only show on the red part and not on the transparent background.
I've tried deleting the excess on the layer whilst all the tweened frames are selected, but that 're=shapes' the 'icons' and plays them through the red part.
To provide a better example of what I want to achieve, here's a still image:

Terminal font behavior is different from other fonts.
For example, here is a screenshot of terminal font glyphs. Why does it have limited glyphs and is not showing Unicode codepoints?
Is there any relation between terminal font and codepage 437, because when I move the cursor to a specific font it shows codepoint value of page 437.

: Re: Are you allowed to use a warning sign as a logo or is this copyrighted? I came across a website that uses the laser warning sign: Is it even allowed to use such signs as a logo, or are
I would say you might be able to hold it as a trademark in your niche (you better not make lasers or laser accessories, because you could never hold the trademark there).
So for instance if you formed Remaining Eye Records which mostly focuses on EDM... and all your LP centers had a stylized version of that logo... And you got established and known in the industry... And Straight Records tries to use the same logo, no problem getting a "knock it off" order even if Straight Records is a classical label.
But if Ruby Red Jewelry used the same logo, you'd have to strongly show that customer confusion is likely owing to targeting the same demographic, sold in the same shops, etc.
Couldn't touch the Laser sailboat or Ford Lightwave.
Nonetheless, this is a bad idea precisely because it's so un-unique qnd obvious: you are going to have collisions like this. How do you know you aren't Straight Records, arriving second to the party? How do you head off Ruby Red Jewelry's before they happen?
And ISO might have some concern with you "diluting their mark" - like happened with the skull and crossbones poison-warning label. So when they copyrighted Mr. Yuk, they decided to defend it strongly so a soft-drink maker doesn't use it.
But the laser mark is to protect people working with lasers, which isn't everyone. Similarly you see a lot of the nuclear mark used ironically. So a judge may not agree with their concerns of mark dilution.

this is my first post here.
I have very basic project: one frame (image/color) with text wrap, and text frame with 2 columns (or two text frames, side by side, it doesn't matter). Easiest way to describe my problem is to show some screenshots:
2 mm text wrap: oi66.tinypic.com/292bi40.jpg
3 mm text wrap: oi63.tinypic.com/a3pp1h.jpg
4 mm text wrap: oi66.tinypic.com/295ehah.jpg
problematic area: oi65.tinypic.com/2l8hoap.jpg
When I increase text wrap offset on gray frame, suddenly there appears a gap in right text column, and I don't know why... Why text 'ute nonse comnien (...)' is moved to right when offset is set to 4 mm? Or if this is correct behaviour, why the whole first line of text in left column 'Non rem ium (...) que officatint au-' stays in place?
In advance thanks for your help and suggestions!

Yes, I did this. The Rivers were both made up of multiple sections. I ungrouped everything to the point where it couldn't be ungrouped anymore. Then I grouped the rivers separately in their entirety. I added a drop shadow to each of the rivers. This, I found out, was causing the black boxes in the PDF. When saving to PDF click the "rasterize filter effects" and gradually lower the DPI until the boxes go away.

When I create an document in InDesign and put some different kind of checkboxes in it that are provided by InDesign. And afterwards export it as an interactive pdf.
Then the checkboxes design is overwritten by Acrobat Reader when I open it.
It looks fine when I open it in Chrome but not in Acrobat.
If I hover the checkboxes in Acrobat Reader they do show their 'customer' design but not when they aren't hovered.
In Acrobat (right top is hovered)
Now I got a pdf from the internet in which the checkboxes keep their custom design. Except for a little blue overlay like every form element gets in Acrobat. So how can I fix my own checkboxes?

I second Westside's suggestion of adobe's color wheel.
Another one I really like is www.palettable.io/ which lets you say what colors you like or dislike and helps you choose colors that pair nicely with everything else you suggest. And you can put in hex color codes instead of saying like/dislike if you have specific colors in mind. colors can get repetitive though.

I am working on a reflowable ePub in InDesign, and the Table of Contents links are not working. When I view the ePub in iBooks and click Table of Contents in the top menu bar, they work fine. But the links on the page itself do not. They show up as links (blue with underline), but nothing happens when I click on them on the page.
They all link to text anchors. I have checked the Hyperlinks window, and when I check "Go to Destination" for each of the links, it goes to the right spot in the document. Yet when I export the reflowable epub, none of the TOC links work. I use internal links throughout the book, and they all work fine (except for TOC).
My method for creating the TOC was Layout > Table of Contents, and selecting "Section Titles" as the Paragraph Style pull.
Any thoughts or recommendations to try would be greatly appreciated.

Just a quick question. I'm working on a couple of shirt designs, and I want the print to be single colour. However, There are some elements, mainly letters on top of shapes, that I don't know how to make them transparent. For example on a poster this wouldn't matter because it's all the same paper, but on a shirt it's of course different to have a white screen print instead of the white texture of the shirt. I hope you understand. I've attached a screenshot where I've moved a part of the design outside the artboard so you can see what I mean. So I want to turn those text elements into text shaped cutouts on the boxes.

Just finished a logo design for a client and am trying to make all of the white areas a compound path with the circle, so that it's fully transparent when overlayed on a background. The screenshot below shows the before and after. As you can see I've lost detail in the rough line inside the circle but picked up a lot of unwanted detail in the letters. Has anyone ever encountered this before? I put a yellow background behind so you can see it. Any ideas on how to fix this?

If you've tried Ctrl+0 and it still doesn't show up, try menu item View > Show Artboards (Shift+Ctrl+H). If it says Hide Artboards, you know this is not the issue.
